Caramel Apple Mocktini
2 ounces apple juice or herbal tea
1 ounce green apple syrup (recipe below)
1 ounce Awakened Tonic’s Grateful for Greens
1/2 ounce lime juice
Caramel Syrup to taste
Rim a clean martini glass with caramel syrup, and set aside (in the fridge is best, so the caramel doesn’t run).
Fill a shaker with ice. Add all ingredients except the caramel syrup. Shake well and pour into the prepared martini glass. Serve.
Green Apple Syrup
1 large tart green apple
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup water
In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring regularly.
Once the apple is cooked down and the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Strain well, squeezing out any liquids in the apple. Discard solids.
Use syrup as desired, and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
